I am an Instructor at American University's School of Public Affairs, Department of Justice, Law & Criminology for graduate course JLC685 Foreign Fighters, designed by Dr. David Malet, and have also taught Counterterrorism Research Methods I for the department.
From 2020-21 I was a discussion section leader for the graduate core course IAFF6162 Security Policy Analysis at George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs, supporting Dr. Paul Williams, while also holding the position of Visiting Scholar at the Institute for African Studies. In 2018 I designed and instructed the graduate capstone course "Defense Contracting in Practice" at ESIA. In 2019 I was an online instructor for King's College London's "International Security Studies: Development of the Discipline" International Affairs MA/PG Dip/PG Cert. I previously acquired online GTA experience through a position supporting Strayer University's Jack Welch Management Institute's Executive MBA program from 2015-2016. |

KCL DSD Studentship |
As part of my PhD program I was awarded a Studentship to work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the UK Joint Services Command and Staff College (JSCSC) from 2016-2018. The Defence Studies Department (DSD) is an integral part of the JSCSC, which provides command and staff training for the three Armed Services of the United Kingdom. DSD staff also provide expert advice and academic leadership as well as wider policy advice to the Ministry of Defence as part of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom.
"Studentships awarded to prospective students with excellent research proposals in any field of Defence and Security Studies... by a joint panel of DSD research staff". Studentships include full tuition, stipend, and a teaching contract, as studentship holders are responsible for assisting teaching duties at JSCSC. In this capacity, I provided graduate level teaching assistance for multiple professional military education (PME) courses in concert with UK military personnel Directing Staff as a graduate teaching assistant (GTA) for the Royal Air Force's Intermediate Officers' Development Programme (IODP) as well as the British Army's Intermediate Command Staff Course (Land) - ICSC(L) courses. |
